It has been about a year and a half since posting anything...and it's not for lack of things going on! The speaking schedule has been crazy, family life has been happily full, and I have a new book in the works.
As far as the speaking...I just finished a busy winter-spring which began at Sisseton High School with a Artist-in-Residence program in the middle of January. I worked with juniors and seniors with found poetry and picture book writing. Wow. The minds and abilities of young people are incredible!
I finish the winter-spring season on May 10 in Pierre with a book discussion about Mount Rushmore Memories, the book I edited with Debbie Ketel of the Mount Rushmore Society in 2011.
Then, it's off to family life.
Child #1 is getting her PhD from Purdue, so we'll be off to Indiana to see her (and her hubbie and our new grandson). Child #2 may show his lovely face in Indiana, which would be wonderful. He lives in Kansas now, but always seems to be en route somewhere. And if all goes well, we'll see #3 who is playing baseball for a minor league team in Traverse City, Michigan.
The new book is expected to be released in August 2017. More about that later!
